Scars
Acne scarring and surgical scars, improved as new collagen fills and softens the indentation.
A medical-grade, high-speed system that gives you the same results as a fractional laser — without the pain, the downtime, the expense or the thermal damage.
Microneedling is a powerful tool for skin rejuvenation — a state-of-the-art, medical-grade, high-speed system that offers the same results as a fractional laser, without the pain, downtime, expense or thermal damage.
By vertically piercing the skin, the device naturally induces your own collagen production. That is what reverses years of sun damage, improves scarring and lifts the overall appearance of ageing skin. It can be used to treat acne, surgical scars, wrinkles and stretch marks, and it reduces pore size along the way.
If the thought of multiple needle wounds sounds unsettling, it is worth knowing how small we are talking. The punctures are very tiny — like pin-pricks — and they only enter the skin at surface level. Most patients find the treatment painless, because numbing cream is applied beforehand.
Your own collagen production is stimulated, rather than anything being added to the skin.
Microneedling stimulates dormant hair follicles, which is why it is used beyond the face.
It can also work to reduce the appearance of cellulite.
Results come fairly quickly, and the skin keeps improving over the months that follow.
Microneedling works with your own collagen, so it builds rather than arrives all at once. Here is what that actually looks like.
Initial results show up quickly. Downtime is minimal, though you may see redness for 12 to 48 hours afterwards.
Usually you will notice some real improvement in the skin by the second or third treatment.
More significant results come after four to six treatments, spaced at six-week intervals.
With the proper skin care regimen, your skin keeps improving for six to twelve months after your treatments.
Because it works by inducing collagen rather than resurfacing from the outside, one treatment addresses several very different concerns.
Acne scarring and surgical scars, improved as new collagen fills and softens the indentation.
Fine lines and the signs of ageing, including years of accumulated sun damage.
Microneedling reduces pore size as a matter of course, alongside whatever else it is treating.
The overall result — an evener surface and a visibly better texture across the whole face.
Still unsure? Bring the question to your complimentary consultation — there is no obligation to book a treatment.
Most patients find microneedling painless and easily tolerable. A numbing cream or anesthesia is applied to the skin before treatment, so there is almost no feeling in the skin during the procedure itself.
Initial results are almost immediate, but you will not see your best results until four to six weeks after the procedure — and the skin keeps improving for months beyond that.
Costs start from $100 and go up to $700 per session, depending on what is being treated. Most treatments run around $300 per session on average. We will confirm your cost at your consultation.
Microneedling is minimally invasive and requires no downtime, and it is generally safe for most people in good overall health. It is not suitable for people taking certain acne medications, or for women who are pregnant.
If your skin feels sensitive afterwards you can apply aloe, and take an Advil for any sensation in the face. Avoid exfoliating products for the next 48 hours. After 24 hours it also helps to apply a sunscreen with an SPF of 25 or higher.
