IPL - Intense Pulsed Light

What is IPL – Intense Pulsed Light?

IPL, also referred to as PhotoFacial, is a very effective treatment that is non-invasive with little-to-no downtime. This skin rejuvenation treatment combines the synergy of bipolar radio-frequency and light energies to reverse the effects of many skin conditions.

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is a great option to dramatically improve the tone, texture and appearance of your skin.

Beginning in your 30s, collagen production decreases, and proper cell reproduction begins to decline. This makes skin recovery more and more difficult as you age. Other signs of decline in cell turnover show with brown spots, skin discoloration, visible blood vessels, and uneven tone. IPL treatments help improve each of these concerns.

What Are The Benefits Of IPL – Intense Pulsed Light?

It is typically used to reduce skin discoloration and treat rosacea, red and brown spots, as well as skin imperfections caused by sun damage. Other conditions that can be treated are: active acne, fine lines and wrinkles and large pores.

These treatments are used to improve skin texture irregularities, like laxity and smoothness, resulting in beautiful skin.

During your treatment, IPL will be administered with a hand-held device built to precisely deliver light to the target area. Each treatment takes about 30-60 minutes depending on the size of the area being treated on your face, neck and/or body.

Typically, most patients require a series of up to 3-5 IPL treatments that should be performed every 4-6 weeks in order to see the desired results.
