Dermaplaning is a cosmetic procedure that extracts the top layers of the skin
— the dead cells and the fine, soft hair on your face. It is also called
blading, or microplaning.

Is it the same as shaving?
The basic concept is similar. A sterile blade is held at a 45-degree angle and

What are the side effects of dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a low-risk procedure. In the hours just after treatment you may
notice mild redness, and some people develop whiteheads in the day or two that
follow. Infection and scarring are rare, but they do occur.
How much does dermaplaning cost?
Dermaplaning prices range from $75 to $150 and up. We will confirm the cost for
your skin and your goals at your consultation, before anything is booked.
Does hair grow back after dermaplaning?
Your hair will grow back exactly as it was before the treatment. If you
naturally have darker hairs they can look thinner as they return — though
that is often because it is easy to forget what the skin looked like
beforehand.
Can dermaplaning ruin your skin?
Not at all. Dermaplaning is a highly effective exfoliating treatment in which a
trained aesthetician uses a sterile surgical blade to gently lift away the dead
skin cells on the surface, along with the peach fuzz on your face.
Dermaplaning or microdermabrasion — which is better?
Dermaplaning can be done on any skin type, including sensitive skin. Compared
with microdermabrasion, which causes pulling, pressure and inflammation,
dermaplaning is the more gentle treatment. It helps refine fine lines,
wrinkles, mild acne scarring and dry skin.
