Myers Drip

What is Myers Drip?

Originally formulated over 40 years ago by Dr. John Myers, he treated acute asthma attacks, migraines, fatigue, chronic sinusitis and recurrent upper respiratory infections with this cocktail.  He believed such ailments would burn through the body’s stores of nutrients at a faster rate.  His solution was to replenish them intravenously for better absorption. Persons having difficulty digesting food or for another reason do not receive full benefit from taking vitamin pills, they may respond well to an IV nutritional regimen. Today, the Myer’s drip or cocktail remains a popular choice for drip enthusiasts.

It may trigger gentle, temporary discomfort, but I.V.’s shouldn’t harm or burn fluid administration. If the drips are properly diluted and administered, the blood flow around the catheter is sufficient to further dilute them, and an infusion will not trigger pain if the catheter is properly immobilized.
